Where to being? Well, at the beginning of course! it’s funny how time can drag by and fly by. How it’s actually our perception of time that determines the speed. How the unplanned flutter of a butterflies wings could set off a chain of events that may completely change the very course of your life, the literal fibers you weave your story from, the solid belief in an understanding of what love and happiness look like, all of it changed forever. Time has new meaning in affairs of the heart. The blissful feelings of feeling connected and being desired, the storm that erupts from the merging of hearts and souls, here time is not fast enough.
When falls in love there is an overwhelming desire to meld with the apple of your eye. The primal urge to be close to them, naked, inside of them. To somehow join your souls and heartbeats into one. To truly feel the electricity of life surge through you as one for just a moment. Of course the physical being only one aspect. There is the emotional and the need to be near them, in their presence. Just the sense of calm that befalls you when you look over and see them. To hear them breathe at night and watch the sheets rise and fall as they dream. Wishing nothing more then to hold them and gently stroke their face, giving sweet soft kisses on their forehead and whispering musing of your love, devotion, hopes and dreams… for the future. Love also brings the urge to know each other, to soak up all the stories and history, to understand the other. All of these forces simultaneously at work and none of it can happen soon enough.
In the end I guess it’s the memories we take from the time that matter, not the speed. It’s remembering to savor the moment, the very moment that you are living in now. By doing this you can build that memory. Just stop and listen to the trees in the wind. Feel the sun in your face and smell the crisp air. Pay attention to your body as you breathe in deeply and envision the sounds, experience the moment. Ask yourself, what’s important to you? Are you living your best life? If not, What’s stopping you? I digress.
No matter the speed ,time is precious a currency we have a limited amount of and we will never me know the balance. How we choose to live our lives, to spend our time plays a huge part in our happiness. Work, chores, medical procedures, grocery store, sleeping, showering, traffic lights … all time that will be spent. The rest is ours to decide. Spend it wisely and remember it, savor the moment. Live your best life, starting today.
